Fast-rising Auma silenced Wanjiru in the Kenya Open finals and vows to beat her again in Mombasa
Calm and confident Sheila Auma (pictured right) does not mince her words on her rematch with international flyweight Ann Wanjiru.
“I’ll beat Ann again to show her my win in Kenya Open was not a fluke,” said Auma looking ahead to meet Wanjiru for the second time.
With novices, intermediate and Kenya Open titles under her belt, Auma is set for a return fight with Wanjiru in the second leg of the Kenya National Boxing League in Mombasa at the Alliance Francaise, Nyali, from July 17-19.
“I’m proud I beat Ann an international boxer in the Open, this has given me more confidence to do better,” said the Kibera Olympic boxer after silencing Wanjiru in the finals of the Kenya Open at Charter Hall early this year.
Wanjiru formerly boxed for Mombasa’s Kongowea but she has now shifted to Kisumu.
Maybe the fish and Kisumu’s solid ugali has increased more power in her punches but she has a mountain to climb against the ambitious Auma.
