Robert Okaka maintained his unbeaten run over Humphrey “Jakababa” Ochieng as Africa Zone 3 minimumweight champion Silas Onyango stopped Abednego Kyalo in the second round during the semi-finals of the 5th and final leg of the Kenya National Boxing League at the United Church Hall in Kisumu on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Okaka aka Man Man Ngori outpointed Jakababa 5-0 to chalk up his sixth win in a row over the Kenya Police boxer. As expected, Okaka was in total command of the fight subjecting Jakababa to an eight count in the second round following a heavy right punch which exploded on Jakababa’s face.

Police’s Silas Onyango beat KDF’s Abednego Kyalo for the second time in a row with a second round stoppage victory. Kyalo sustained an injury above his right eye forcing the referee Tony Ouma to stop the fight.

African Military Games flyweight champion Kelvin “Young” Maina also defeated Nairobi’s Emmanuel “Manu” Chondo for the second time while Africa light-middleweight champion Boniface Mogunde remains unbeaten locally for seven years now following his first round stoppage victory over Laikipia’s Clinton Mutua.

Africa Zone 3 welterweight bronze medallist Wiseman Kavondo made a successful debut for Kenya Police, stopping Kisumu’s Rodney Nyangema.

Kavondo, Paul Omondi and Caleb Wandera have now officially been employed by the Kenya Police. This.now gives them more stability in their boxing careers.

The highlight of today’s finals is the third fight this year between 2024 Africa Championships bronze medallist Shaffi Bakari of Police and KDF’s Africa Military Games bantamweight champion Dennis Muthama. It’s 1-1 so far after Shaffi avenged the Mombasa defeat by Muthama during the fourth leg of the league in Nanyuki.
