HOUCHI DISPLAYS NEW WBC BELT

World Boxing Council Vice-President Houcine Houichi displays the new special WBC belt to be contested for between Ukranian WBC, WBA and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and Britain’s Tyson Fury affectionately known as the Gypsy King.

The design is made with the reference of the 50th anniversary of Muhammad Ali vs George Foreman world heavyweight title fight held in 1974 in Kinshasa, DR Congo with Ali knocking out Foreman in the eighth round.

Usyk will face Fury in a rematch on December 21st in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He outpointed Fury by a split decision in an action-packed 12-round thriller in May in Saudi Arabia to become the first undisputed champion in 25 years after Lennox Lewis in 1999. He later relinquished the IBF belt.
