🇰🇪 The final leg of the Kenya National Boxing League in Homabay, Dec 19-21
SEMI-FINAL HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY’S LEAGUE ACTION

There’s a mixture of anxiety and conquest as 20 boxers prepare to trade leather in the 10-bout semi-finals card of today’s BFK-sponsored Kenya National Boxing League which enters the second day at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, some 420km south-west of Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi. Action starts at 4pm.
If the huge attendance on the first day is anything to by, today the fans are once again expected to throng the venue in larger numbers to enjoy the battle especially taking into account homeboy Junior Ochieng meets Prisons’ Lenox Lewis in what promises to be a closely contested and exciting welterweight semi-final encounter.
Ochieng aka Junruly is bubbling with confidence ahead of the fight.
“I will not let down my home fans I must win my fight but I know Lenox is a good boxer,” said Ochieng, a teacher at Loita Junior Secondary School in Narok.
In other highlights of the day, KDF internationals Hezron Magaga and Peter Abuti will also be in the four-squared circle with Magaga, son of a former top international boxer Fred Sabat, battling Prisons’ Ibrahim Shikanda at heavy and Abuti moving up to super-heavyweight to take on Kisumu’s John Otieno.
Prisons’ Mwinyi Kombo aka Giant Killer is expected to make short work of Vihiga’s Boaz Ambuka to stroll to the finals with KDF’s Sergeant Francis Mwema meeting Homa Bay’s Alvin Otieno.
A total of 51 boxers from eight teams entered the 5th and final leg of the Kenya National Boxing League with defending champions Police, Nairobi County and Kibra the notable absentees.
The eight teams in Homa Bay are KDF, Prisons, Vihiga, Siaya, Mombasa, Kisumu, Dallas and Homa Bay.
