Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT) has selected a provisional national team of 47 boxers – 35 men and 12 women – for the Africa Elite Men’s and Women’s Championships scheduled for October 18-31 in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

Announcing the squad, BFT Secretary-General Makore Mashaga said the training camp will be held at the Dar es Salaam Police Academy (DPA) in Kurasini.

Mashaga emphasized a rigorous selection process will be conducted before they pick on the final team to represent Tanzania.

“We are entering these preparations with one goal—to build a strong team, conduct a fair selection process, and ensure that Tanzania is represented by boxers of the highest caliber.

“Kinshasa is not just an ordinary trip; it is a national duty, and our preparations will reflect that gravity,” said Mashaga.
