Four boxers carry Tanzania’s flag🇹🇿 in this international tournament to commemorate 50th Anniversary of Comoros Independence
Commonwealth Games light-middleweight bronze medallist Kassim Mbundwike leads Tanzania’s four-man team in tonight’s finals of an international tournament to commemorate Comoros 50th Anniversary of Independence celebrations in the capital city Moroni.

Mbundwike aka Mfupa wa Sokwe returned to the national in last month’s Africa Military Boxing Championships in Morocco where he won a bronze medal. He will take on Soilihi Anzali of Comoros in the middleweight division.
African Games lightweight bronze medallist Ezra Paul, who won silver in the Morocco event, battles Comoros’ Radjay Mohamed, and at light-welterweight Ibrahim Mrema meets Ilzam Taofik of Comoros while bantamweight Kaimu Kaimu will take on Comoros’ Mohamed Ali Abdoulhamid. Mrema and Kaimu are making their international debut.
“All the boxers are in tip-top condition for their bouts, victory is our slogan,” said coach Samuel “Batman” Kapungu, winner of the 2024 Coach of the Year Award. Other officials in the team are Star-1 R&J Ramadhani Mazola and Major Valerian Lugongo.
In addition to Comoros and Tanzania, the other participating teams are from Gabon and Madagascar.
