FAITH SABATIA, CHRIS JUMA AND LENOX FRANCIS IN NAIROBI TEAM FOR KAMPALA TRIP

Three of Africa’s Emerging Stars, flyweight Faith Sabatia, featherweight Chris Juma and middleweight Lenox Francis, are in Nairobi’s team heading to Kampala for Sunday’s international friendly contest against Nakawa Combined at the Naguru Katali Primary School open ground.

The Nairobians, led by the national team head coach and Secretary General of the city, Musa Benjamin, leave for Kampala by road on Friday, January 31.

Coaches accompanying the team are John Ochieng aka Chea, Mike Mungai, Edward Ogweno and Nick Muratha.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, who is sponsoring the trip, met the team on Wednesday and assured them of his support in the development of boxing in Nairobi.

He said plans are underway to revitalise the sport in Kenya’s capital and equip over ten estate halls as well as renovating them to modern standards.

International Faith Sabatia, who represented the national team in the Africa Championships in Kinshasa last year, is in the Nairobi team
