Mozambique Boxing Federation President Gabriel Junior was in cloud nine as he received the awards from Mozambican President Daniel Chapo.
“It was with joy that boxing was one of the most awarded sports of the night,” said an excited and jovial Gabriel Junior. He remarks, “This milestone marks seven years of a revolution in Mozambique boxing where the sport’s value and prestige have returned to their original form.
“The last seven years are undoubtedly the best ever for this sport, with international medals won, consecutive appearances in the Olympic Games, the best-ever ranking and other achievements,”he says.
Gabriel Junior’s latest project to Mozambican boxing development is the launch of a new round-robin competition format that will integrate junior and senior categories.
“It will be the most extensive competition ever and aims to bring a new dynamic to the sport,” Gabriel Junior told boxersworld.co.ke
