IBA CONGRATULATES TERENCE CRAWFORD ON HISTORIC VICTORY OVER CANELO ALVAREZ
The International Boxing Association (IBA) extends its heartfelt congratulations to Terence “Bud” Crawford on his extraordinary and history-making victory over Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
In a performance that will be remembered for generations, Crawford outclassed Canelo over 12 rounds to become the first male boxer in history to achieve undisputed world champion status in three different weight divisions. The unanimous decision victory (116-112, 115-113, 115-113) cements Crawford’s legacy as one of the greatest fighters of the modern era 1.
Crawford’s technical brilliance, ring IQ, and relentless determination were on full display as he moved up two weight classes to face one of boxing’s most dominant champions. His ability to neutralize Canelo’s power and dictate the pace of the fight was a masterclass in elite-level boxing.
IBA President Umar Kremlev, who welcomed Crawford to the IBA Congress and press conference in Istanbul earlier this year, praised the champion:
