FOUR AFRICAN BOXERS IN TODAY’S IBA CHAMPIONS’ NIGHT CARD

A scintillating IBA Champions’ Night show is in the offing today with four African boxers in the seven-bout card to be headlined by the 10-round bridgerweight duel featuring South Africa’s cruiserweight champion Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu (23-7-0, 13 KOs) and WBA bridgerweight champion, Russia’s towering unbeaten two-time world gold medallist and Tokyo Olympic champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (5-0, 3 KOs).

It’s a fight the 36-year-old Mchunu must win at all costs to redeem his career which is on the rocks. The southpaw South African boxer will have to devise an effective strategy to get the better of the taller aggressive Russian.

Tonight’s exciting IBA Champions’ Night card starts at 7.30pm East African time and will be livestreamed in IBA YouTube Channel which has over 380,000 subscribers.

In addition to Mchunu, other African boxers in the mix at Moscow’s International Boxing. Center are Cameroon’s Mouhamed Oumarou, Nigeria’s female flyweight Ayisat Oriyomi and DR Congo-born Belgian Jack “Big Jack” Mulowayi (15-3-1, 11 KOs) who fights unbeaten Russian Artem Suslenkov (11-0-0) in an 8-round cruiserweight bout.

Ayisat, unbeaten in nine fights, battles Kazakhstan’s Angelina Lukas, enjoying a six-bout unbeaten streak while Oumarou, who has won all his three bouts at home, meets Russia’s Tamerlan Ozdoev in the opening six-round light-welterweight bout. The Russian made his pro boxing debut last December.
